9:00 AM UPDATE #BORDERFIRE now at 50 acres with 0% contained. (Previous report of 70 acres was corrected by Incident Command.) Just heard on scanner at 9:01: "May" have person who started fire. 8:15 Fox5 San Diego is live over the fire. The fire is really not doing a lot at this time. The right flank is fairly active but a lot of light grey smoke only at this time. Of course it hits some heavier fuel at the top of the ridge now and has picked up quite a bit....never fails
8:12 3 AT's and a helitanker on order... 7:56 Most of the area west if there was burned in the 2003 Otay Fire, and now lots of flashy fuel after epic winter rainfall. Could be a tough fight if aligned with the winds. Limited ground access and water. Per CALFIRE Twitter Feed the fire has moderate spread toward NORTH and EAST. Still at 40 acres and 0% contained.
