ROADWAY NOW RE-OPENED AT 5:10 PM. EB TRAFFIC BACKUP STARTS AT LYONS VALLEY RD.
Earlier: About 3:00 PM a car veered from the 94 roadway east of the casino into a power pole. The pole toppled across the road and started a brushfire on the Rancho Jamul Drive.
Firefighters jumped on brushfire, and got it quickly under control. THANK YOU FF's!
Traffic was still stopped up at 5:00 PM, but beginning to clear. SDG&E removing last power lines. At 5:10 PM eastbound traffic backup starts about Lyons Valley Rd. Thanks for the head's up, Jim Norton. Thank you, Donna Blocker for the photos.
