UP TO $2,000 PER PARCEL:
Nearly all property in Deerhorn Valley that had a habitable structure in 2008 is eligible for up to $2,000 from the Sunrise Powerlink Grant Program. This is the first year of the program which is expected to be renewed on a yearly basis as funding permits. Projects to fire-harden your home or create defensible space are encouraged. These can include:
• Cover roof eaves
• Install double-paned windows
• Retrofit or remove attic or crawlspace vents
• Replace roofing, wood decks or fencing with fire-resistant materials
• Remove or trim trees and brush away from structures
• Install irrigation around home perimeter
• Create 100 feet of defensible space around your structures and/or 10 feet along driveways and roads
