BRUSH FIRE AT 94 AND OTAY LAKES RD

30 ACRES... LARGER POTENTIAL.
MAJOR AIR/LAND RESPONSE UNDERWAY

3:53  FROM EASTCOUNTYMAGAZINE.ORG <http://eastcountymagazine.org/node/10115>
"Location: Thomas Brothers Map 1313 A4.
Fire started from a structure fire that spread into the brush; burning northward at a moderate spread.
"Currently we have 7 engines, 2 fire crews, 1 bulldozer, 1 water tender, 1 chief officer, 2 helicopters, 2 airtankers (75 firefighters)," Roxanne Provaznik at Cal Fire said in an email.
Two additional air tankers and two more helicopters have been requested, along with 10 more engines and four additional fire crews."

2:51 PM: CERT reports fire is by 1000 trails storage area. Large response on it and it is putting up a lot of smoke. It has burned 30 acres, and CERT is reporting potential to 1,000 acres.  CANNOT CONFIRM THIS. Says fire fighters are now doing a structure threat assessment but so far only a couple of buildings potentially threatened.

2:54 PM: CALFIRE reports fire at 20 acres, no structures threatened.  Calling for additional crews and air support.

Trying to use Gliderport for landings, but not available due to active parachute jumpers.

Light winds are from west... not good for us.

I will be taking precautionary measures: moving flammables away from structures, getting EvacBox out.  Should have done it last week.
