SATURDAY MORNING RAIN GAUGE...
Rob and I measured 1.40 inches here on Elena Ln and Deerhorn Valley Rd. Weather Guru Bill Stevens got 1.71 in Upper Deerhorn. Mother Grundy station (http://weather.mothergrundy.org/) showed 1.07 inches. Any other reports? A very nice rain (although I can do without the winds!) Sure beats Red Flag Alerts! Julian has snow... and DPW says the roads are open. Not that I would brave those crowds for anything. But the pie IS good! -Kim

LOCAL, ORGANIC TURKEYS FOR THE HOLIDAYS
A neighbor here in Deerhorn has been raising turkeys for the holidays and is offering 10 for sale. They are large birds, all less than 6 months old, weighing between 20+-35+ pounds dressed. All raised without hormones and antibiotics, and with lots of garden veggies to snack on. $100/ per bird, dressed--your choice (females are usually smaller and more tender and males are typically larger and also delicious). TRUNK OR TREAT
LOST/FOUND BUTTERFLY MASK
Thanks to you folks in the Deerhorn Community for making this such a great success! Looks like we have an Annual Happening and the start of a new tradition right here in our own backcountry. It was delightful to see all the costumes and smiles... not to mention just getting together to visit.
Found: A beautiful Mardi Gras mask seen in this photo of a young "butterfly girl" was found on the ground. Email (dvca@deerhornvalley.net) or call Karen Koop (468-3627) to claim it:
