VEGETATION FIRE — OTAY AREA — FORWARD PROGRESS STOPPED

VEGETATION FIRE... EAST OF OTAY BORDER CROSSING AREA general area of Alta Rd and Otay Mountain Rd. Stay aware of fire progress and direction.  We are updating at Facebook.com/DeerhornValley

5:30 PM SUMMARY:  Fire first reported about 1:00 pm south of the international border and east of the Otay Port of Entry. About 3:00 pm it crossed the border into the United States. At 5:15 Incident Command reported forward rate of progress had stopped, and crews were transitioning to Mop-up and Containment. They will continue to be onsite through the night.

FORWARD RATE OF PROGRESS STOPPED (YAY!) FIRE CREWS TRANSITIONING TO MOP UP AND WILL BE ON SCENE ALL NIGHT.

4:36 PM

AIR AND GROUND UNITS HAVE SLOWED RATE OF SPREAD. ESTIMATED AT 20 ACRES (not sure if that is just US side or includes Mexico)

4:00 PM— Incident Command (IC) reporting #Border10Fire [update] The IC has advised that the fire has crossed into the US and has burned approximately 10 acres. There are no structures in the area. Air and ground resources are engaged.
