OTAY LAKES RD CLOSED AT GLIDERPORT — HWY 8 CLOSED THROUGH SD MOUNTAINS
Driver Debbie B reports that at 5:30 AM Otay Lakes Road was closed at the Gliderport this morning. Rain is still falling, and it's dark outside. Expect roads to be flooded, and don't expect warning cones or signs. SItuation is too variable, and there is a lot of work for law enforcement elsewhere.
The alternative route to Chula Vista is SR 94 to 125. It's a long way, but better than backtracking the from the Otay Lakes Dip. Hopefully someone will get us some more info once there is some daylight.
Also, Interstate 8 is closed through the San Diego Mountains. There is a semi stuck in the snow, and a red big rig/box trailer leaking diesel in the Boulevard area. HazMat responding. CHP reports entire freeway is blocked and snow plows have not been able to get through. They are trying to move
