"NATIVE JEWELS of JAMUL" & DEERHORN VALLEY!

 NEXT SUNDAY ~ APRIL 3RD
NATIVE GARDENS: "JEWELS OF JAMUL" TOUR

Info and Tickets: GARDENNATIVE.ORG

DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION:
Five native garden sites in Deerhorn Valley, Jamul, and Rancho San Diego merited special attention this year, so the CA Native Plant Society (CNPS) organized a special Native Jewels of Jamul Tour for these more distant "diamonds" as part of their annual Native Garden Event.  The DV Community Association was thrilled to learn that two Deerhorn properties are prominently featured: Rancho Chuparosa (MGTT/Winnetka Valley) and Trinchera Ranch (Sierra Cielo/Bratton Valley).  Both feature incredible designs, hardscaping, fantastic views, and bountiful native plants that thrive in Deerhorn's diverse altitudes and climates.

SPECIAL THIS YEAR— A DEERHORN VALLEY CHECK IN SITE: The DVCA wants to make this a friendly and inviting venue, so you will be able to sign in Sunday morning at Casa Colibri (DV Rd. and Upper Elena — look for signs).  Pick up your detailed map and guide sheet (your admission "ticket").  Rob Deason promises fresh roasted coffee, and DVCA is providing the accompanying goodies and pastries.  We want to celebrate just being part of this Annual Tour, and there will be time to sit on the porch, visit with friends and neighbors, and just shoot the breeze.  Bathroom too!  Participants provide their own transportation, but there is plenty of parking and you're encouraged to share the day in carpools or caravans.  With only five sites, there will be time to catch a bite to eat in Jamul or RSD too.

The SD backcountry is experiencing an incredible Spring Bloom, and the planted natives at these properties will amaze and inspire. Even our hillsides are in bloom, with the ceanothus just having peaked, and the manzanitas coming on, and the encelia brightening the roadsides at lower elevations. The drive to Rancho Chuparosa along Mother Grundy Truck Trail is gorgeous.  (We recommend the upper entrance, unless you're extra adventurous and have a high clearance vehicle!)  The trails and views at Trinchera Ranch are not to be missed.

PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE (or make arrangements to pay-by-check):
"Native Jewels" tickets are only $15 ea.  The "Jewels Tour" option will appear ONLY after clicking  PURCHASE TICKETS on the opening page.

What a great opportunity to join with friends and neighbors to celebrate this beautiful place we call home!
