RAIN RAIN RAIN! PLEASE TAKE IT EASY...

We've marked about 1 inch of rain here in Deerhorn Flats as of about 2:00 PM on Friday.  It's a welcome rain, for sure.  There was a morning solo car spinout at the Upper Dip on Honey Springs Road.  No serious injuries, thankfully.  It's a good reminder to us all that our roads are dangerous in these kinds of conditions.  These photos are from the Archive (January 2010).  Our main roads can become impassable where water crosses—The Dips on Honey Springs and Deerhorn Valley Roads.   Falling rocks and mud and sand washing across the road surface is just as dangerous.
You don't want to be driving your normal speed.  DV'er Dan Wemple is a road surface specialist.  His reminder: "You can only go so fast—half that in the rain, quarter that in that dip. If you don't you are dippy." —Thanks, Dan!
