Deerhorn Valley gets its share of ducks passing through, but the year after the fire we had a pair of mallards land and drink from our birdbaths and rummage around our back porch for seeds spilled or uneaten. We have a swimming pool and they've taken to it. They've returned each year. Beautiful birds, they are.
