Expected to go to 100+ Calfire units are staging at the Gun Club (Kitchen Creek) Per Cleveland Forest website, Kitchen Creek Road is listed as Open, even though "Subject to closure depending on resource concerns, weather and fire danger level." Also per retired FF monitoring radio traffic, fire may have started from shooting area.

INTERSTATE 8 AND SUNRISE HWY according to the scanner. Visuals put it closer the Border Checkpoint on I-8. Lots of smoke visible to the east of Deerhorn. Rapid spread. About 50 acres at 1:20 PM. Below is the view from Lyons Peak. Keep radios and scanners on. Wind Advisory still in effect. Winds are supposed to diminish this afternoon.
ANOTHER FIRE reported at HWY 94 and Tecate Turnoff (SR-188). This was started about ago by a motorcycle accident. Last I heard was about 10 acres with moderate spread.
