OUR SWALLOWS HAVE RETURNED...

The swallows have arrived in force.  We spotted the first male arrival two weeks ago.  Tradition says they return to Capistrano on St. Joseph's Day, March 19th.  Their arrival in Deerhorn signals the 2014 Non-Winter is now officially a Deerhorn Spring
Mud nests (in the right spots) provide shelter and nesting for dozens of swallows.  They are great mosquito eaters, swooping and swerving at dusk over pools and ponds.  Gotta love 'em.
