Fliers are out... signs are up.   This is a first-ever 4th of July event for Deerhorn Valley!

Decorate yourselves, your tractor, trailer, dog, horse, llama, bicycle, wagon, golf cart, walker… Use your imagination and join us for our FIRST (ANNUAL?) 4th of JULY MINI PARADE and PICNIC -- Wednesday July 4th at 1:00 PM at McKinley’s Field.

Come with family, neighbors, and friends.  No need to drive "down the hill" to celebrate the Fourth.
Details are posted here:  "4TH of JULY" <http://www.deerhornvalley.net/4thofjuly.html>   We'd love an

RSVP so we have an idea if we'll have 20... or 200 folks coming.  Questions: Email Karen Koop at 468-3627 or email Parade@deerhornvalley.net   Here's just a sample of those who've already RSVP'd:

  • Antique Allis-Chambers Tractor (Mike Sandvig)
  • 1946 Willy's Jeep (John Hughes)
  • Antique cars (McNeill's... & Friends)
  • Fox terriers in full regalia (Ms. Vicki)
  • Ride-on tractors decorated with poster paint (Kim & Rob)
  • Two local marines in dress blue (if they don't pull guard duty!)
  • Deerhorn Station Firefighters (hoping they're not called out!)

SCHEDULE
1:00 PM -- Staging begins at the McNeill's oat field (across from the lower Elena Lane on Deerhorn Valley Rd.)

2:00 PM -- PARADE TIME! Strike up the band (boom-boxes with patriotic music welcome!)  We're marching to McKinley's Field.

3:00 PM -- BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC  REMEMBER... this is not an organized potluck.  For a first-ever event, it was easiest to ask each group to bring their own picnic.  But... we'll have soft drinks, water, popcorn, sno-cones, and cotton candy (such is the plan!)  Buy your food tickets at the Ticket Table.  50¢ buys you any one item.  Such a deal!  We'll also have a few old-fashioned kids' games–– with goodie bags as prizes.

PLEASE RSVP  Use the link at left, or send an email to Parade@deerhornvalley.net

SEE YOU THERE!
